The Cookie Making Party

On Sunday we hosted our 1st Annual Christmas Cookie Making Party! Our friends in Moses Lake brought their kids, their recipes, and their patience as we spent the afternoon baking and having the kids decorate. Well . . . Courtney and some of the other Moms did that. The rest of us enjoyed the football games, a few cold beers, ate homemade chili and an occasional cookie. The kids loved it - and the object of the game seemed to be how many decorations you could squeeze onto one cookie.

The Meek Boys Meet Santa

Today was Santa Photo Day for the Meeks, and as expected it wasn't a great outing. Masen loved Santa and had lots to say to him. We are confident that Santa knows what to bring to make Masen's Christmas complete. Hayden on the other hand is not a fan of Santa, and isn't quite sure if he wanted to talk to him. The one thing he was sure of was that he didn't want to sit on his lap, stand near him, or even sit on a chair next to him. The bribery of a Candy Cane wouldn't even help his fears. He did have a chance to briefly tell Santa would he would like for Christmas, so hopefully Santa heard his wishes.

The Meeks Kickoff the Holiday Season!

The month of November wrapped up with a lot of holiday and birthday celebrations. First we all helped Courtney celebrate her 30th birthday with her friends and family. We also had a great Thanksgiving visiting with our family - and all of the new cousins/babies born during 2008. Sometimes it is hard to believe that we welcomed 5 new members of our family during 2008 - Austin and Dylan (March 29), Masen (April 1), Lane (June 23), and Bradlee (November 18). We are excited to see what Christmas brings as we continue the Holiday celebrations.

Hayden meets his new cousin Bradlee!

Hayden and Masen finally got to meet their new cousin Bradlee JoEll Dailey who was born on November 18. Bradlee is the first child of Michal & Owen. Hayden had his usual reaction to new babies - he wanted to give her a kiss! Masen, well, he just slept through the whole thing and figured he would catch up with her later when she could do a little bit more than just lay there.

Happy Halloween

Last night our little Monkey and Pirate celebrated Halloween by going to a Hallo-weenie Roast at some friends. Hayden went trick - or - treating and did quite well. He just wasn't too sure about the houses with scarry decorations. Masen just relaxed, slept, and loved being told how cute he was as the monkey. It was a chilly night in Moses Lake, so Masen's monkey costume kept him nice and warm!

Our Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

We made our yearly trip to the Pumpkin Patch in Pasco last weekend, and Hayden had a great time. At Country Mercantile they take you in the back of a tractor out to the pumpkins and then you can roam around through the field looking for that perfect find. Hayden was quite funny this year, since he had his mind set on finding his own pumpkin. Courtney and I both tried to convince him that we found the perfect pumpkin for him, but he kept saying no. So eventually we realized that he wanted a big pumpkin, and he wasn't giving up until he found it. Eventually he did - a 16 lb. pumpkin! Masen also had a great time being outside and dressed in his pumpkin suit. Of course he was smiling the whole time and just going with the flow. It is great to have one kid like that! After the pumpkins, they have tractors, a corn maze, and a petting zoo for the kids to play with. It was a great day and got us into the Fall Holiday season.
